Starting On The Right Foot
Getting in early with puppy preschool is the best way to start your life together, ensuring both you and your pet learn healthy habits and learn to live well together. Designed for puppies from 8-18 weeks old, we not only teach your puppy, but we equip you with the knowledge and skills to continue their learning as they grow.
What You Learn
Puppy preschool is made for the early, critical time in a puppy’s development as they learn to socialise and learn new skills for the first time. The course covers areas including:
- Behaving calmly around other people and dogs
- Settling into a new home environment
- Toilet training techniques
- Safety and health information
- An introduction to good manners and basic cues (eg. sit, look, down, wait)
Puppy preschool is also about teaching you just as much as your dog. We help you understand how dogs think and what they need to thrive, helping you to communicate effectively with your puppy. Importantly, we teach you the basic elements you need to know to continue their training and learning as they grow so they continue with the good habits introduced at puppy preschool.
About The Classes
Our puppy preschool classes are run through the Sutherland Veterinary Clinic (62 Wolger Street, Como. PH: 02 9545 2100). Each program runs for four weeks with classes once a week on a weekday evening. Each class runs for approximately one hour. Additionally, they are held indoors, so they are not affected by the weather.
